Everyone enjoyed the cruise, the wine and the food was great! Especially the Flambe brownie and caramelized bananas with ice-cream...they were great! And the weather was fantastic.

Ex Singapore Sail 09 has now finished and I feel it was a total success. It involved a wide spectrum of Her Majesty’s Sailors and a Royal Marine and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some even quoted “That was the best thing I’ve done in 23 years of being in the navy”. This makes all my efforts worthwhile.

Ahead of my official Exped report, which is currently being compiled, I’d like to state that we achieved the following:

Day One. Sailed overnight, 82 miles to Palau Aur Island.

Day Two. At Palau Aur, carried out Kayaking, Snorkelling, Jungle Trek, Rock Climbing, Diving, and Swimming.

Day Three. Sailed to Kekek - Tioman Island. Snorkelling, Kayaking.

Day Four. Sailed Kekek to Asah, Tioman Island. Snorkelling, Kayaking, Jungle Trek to Waterfalls.

Day Five. Sailed 102 Miles back to Singapore. Total 244 Miles, with approx 8 Night hours each.

The two Yacht Captains informed the crew that they were very impressed with the team building, watch keeping and general sailing abilities. They all worked well together as teams, carrying out Navigation (Day and Night), Pilotage, Sail Setting and Trimming and General Deck Duties.
