Team-Building Programme in unique style - Yacht hire, Singapore

The programme serves as a Team-building exercise for up to 18 refugees from the Daily Grind, as rehab for addicted binge-workers, as an escape out of the claustrophobic concrete canyons of the City, and as a breath of fresh air away from the toxic emissions of City Life.

Participants are formed into three Watch groups, whose job together is to guide us safely to our destination.

Long Ranger is a modern, well equipped sailing yacht.

The Watch on the Helm steer the ship, keep a watch out visually and on radar, and learn to communicate responsibly on public radio.

The Mate leads the Watch on Deck in a stirring Sea Shanty…”pulling strings”.

Team spirit is built when each of the three watch groups cooperates intimately in navigating a large sailing ship to her safe destination. We are literally “all in the same boat”. Watch groups are rotated every two hours to give all the whole experience.

at some point we will do a Man Overboard! Drill, with a live volunteer, usually one who did not pump the toilet properly.

The Captain teaches cross-bearings….

The Navigating Watch fix our position, determine the next
course to our destination, and instruct the Watch on the helm
where to steer....

...a moment for quiet team-bonding

Captain Blake, the cousin of Sir Peter Blake, NZ’s Premier sporting hero, is an Instructor with the Australian Yachting Federation, licensed to teach up to Offshore Yachtmaster level….a little too much to aspire to in a single day out on the water….but the benefits of working together as a team in a real-life, hands-on experience will be obvious….and more likely to gain the approval of the Chief Financial Officer.

Should the wind fail completely, we can frolic in the boom-net....great fun!

Bring swimsuit and towel, fresh water showers available.
